1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dust bin when it is full.

Both robots excel at cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors and they are very good in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we evaluated, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords and may have issues traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.

2. iRobot i7+ Roomba

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and comes with the latest features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot using voice or via the app.

In our tests the i7+ was more agile and faster than our second-placed model which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin which eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases cleaner air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to the specific task. It is able to quickly change from handheld to floor vacuum robot vacuum, and vice versa.

The model also comes with a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments as well as a wand clip. This is a significant improvement over the older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.

The flat front of the unit allows to get into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice addition.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models like our top choices and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and can better move its own. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a larger motor, and is more effective on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not surprising that they are also among the top producers of best robot vacuum for large house vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
